Zephyrhills was playing pickleball before most of Florida knew what it was. The winter-resident RV parks brought the game in, the city built on it, and now you can find a game most mornings without calling ahead.

City park courts carry the public play, and the RV and manufactured-home communities along Gall Boulevard run their own rotations that are often open to guests if you ask at the office. Nothing here is precious about it — show up, put your paddle in the rack, and you'll be on within two games.
Skew older, skew experienced, skew patient. A lot of these players have twenty years of paddle sports behind them and they will dink you into the ground while making conversation. Great place to fix your third shot.
Season runs hard from November through March when the northern residents are down. Summer thins out but the 7am crowd never really stops.
