Corey Travel· 2 years agoSix brand new dedicated pickleball courts with dividers in South Minneapolis. Nice middle section between each side of the courts with three picnic tables and large umbrella canopies. There are two free parking lots one next to the playground and other at the Lake Nokomis Community Center. Note: You enter both parking lots off of E Minnehaha Parkway. The courts have open play all the time except for a few times in the summer the city does lessons (one day a week) which they post the days and times at the courts. There's a paddle rack for next group up. It gets busy around 5:30 pm each day. The best time to play if you have your own group is mid-afternoon. I'd say the play ranges from beginners to intermediate. Most 4.0+ players stay in their own groups. My only wish is they would add lights for evening play. I haven’t found the wind to be an issue. I prefer the view of the park, people and lake from the courts vs. looking at the wind screens. Granted if it’s gusting 20-30 mph you might want to choose different courts.
Alex Hummel· 12 months agoGreat public courts with picnic tables and shade awnings. Pretty good design for a public park. It can be windy because it's at the top of a hill and is frequently very busy. Welcoming community from my experience. Not the best spot for beginners during peak times (eg after work or weekends) because it gets so busy and the level of play is higher.

Jordan Leick· 2 years ago6 new courts as of 2023! Very popular, so whenever I’ve gone, so be prepared to play doubles with strangers if you don’t have 4 in your group. Everyone has been very friendly, and skill level seems to take from novice to high intermediate (2.0-4.5). Low fences between every single court reduces the number of balls that end up in other courts. Some shade umbrellas, but the shade often isn’t over the picnic tables. Has a bike rack, and sits next to a free parking lot.
Joshua· 3 years agoThe Lake Nokomis Pickleball courts opened in the summer of 2023. The courts are very well setup and beautifully designed. There are nice sun awnings and picnic tables in between the courts. Reliable pickup play after work during weekdays and all day weekends. There are 6 courts total and you never have to wait long in between games!
