Gary Humphrey· 8 months agoI was in pretty bad health and joined in December. I've gained 16 lbs of mostly muscle and I am doing squats, presses, things I never thought I could do. They make the cardio classes fun. Jen and Jen are two of the best trainers you will ever meet in any state.
Peter T· a year agoWhile vacationing here in Bonita Springs, I visited the local Y to get my workout routine done. Even though the equipment was dated, it has everything you need to get a full body workout in regard to weightlifting. I loved that the weight training room was practically empty the two days that I was there and it was when it would normally be the busiest time of day back at home. Plus the staff keeps the place very clean and are very nice.
Bianca Moya· a year agoNever had a problem with the YMCA but Ever since Ms.Rebecca became the director at the YMCA in Bonita Springs it seemed like every other week was a problem… My 2 yr old got suspended with no warning. The lady’s in the front just tell you to sign a report but don’t explain that if the child gets 2-3 more reports they will be suspended & they gave me the news at 5:30pm with no time to plan on who was going to babysit my child. Also my sons father dropped off my 2yr old at 6:27am a teacher literally opened the door for him but yet another teacher with attitude told him that they open at 6:30am, when my sons father walked out to leave, he turned around & seen my son by the front door crying & no teacher was around to get him I spoke to the director and she said that it was fine he needed time to himself and stated that my sons father was lying about his drop off and she also got upset cause my sons father sent me the video of him crying in the main entrance door… We kept my son home the next day but when he returned back to school of course they called me saying I needed to pick him up since he had hit another student. At this point It felt as if they were just picking/mistreating my son & not comforting him, He would cry every morning during drop off… and the director Ms.Rebecca stated that my son has an “ issue “ it seemed like she didn’t take anything serious. When picture day came across I realized I didn’t get his picture form.. when asked they stated my son took his pictures, 3 days passed and they didn’t update me until I asked. Then they stated that my son didn’t take pictures after telling me he did. Communication and Organization is very poor they don’t tell you which class your child is in when you go for pick up, they don’t introduce you to the teachers, my son has had 5 different teachers within 2 months already, (which is a high possibility for my child’s behavior, all these new teachers he’s had probably had him overwhelmed or in distress). They are very unorganized that they even confused me with another parent & explained to the other parent that my child had switched classes and had the other parent sign one of my child’s incident report which is considered HIPPA when confronted they were surprised I had found out about that situation.
Vivian Reeves· 2 years agoI would say this location could be almost 5 stars- and probably would be for those without small children. The staff we’ve interacted with have mostly been friendly and nice. I understand it is nearly impossible to effectively sanitize children’s areas, with such a high volume of kids that are using the facilities this summer. I’m only writing this to try and get the attention of the management to see what they can do to help mitigate the spread of disease and illness among the children attendees. I am so exhausted of having to take my kids to the doctor, get medicine, deal with vomiting and buying all the necessary things to deal with children’s illnesses , just because parents whose kids should be at home sick , are bringing them into the Y and spreading it amongst kids that are not sick. If your child has a cold or fever, or Fifth disease, or hand foot mouth, PLEASE do not bring them in!! Due to these situations, it would be really important for the Y to do temp checks or at least sanitize touch areas often, especially in the summer or high season time when there are way too many kids and not enough staff. They should be having kids use the sanitizers around the facility, and having staff frequently wiping down high traffic/touch areas. In all the time we’ve been here, we’ve never seen this happening. It’s easy to just say, oh, so don’t come to this Y. But why ruin it for others when things can be improved on? It’s a struggle when paying quite a bit for the membership, and not being able to attend because of the sheer amount of overflow of kids that are in attendance . I feel like I’m just constantly wasting money, as we cannot attend due to the kids constantly coming back with illnesses that are brought on by other kids. Yes, it’s good for their immune system but every other week is too much. Please sanitize, encourage hand washing and proper sanitation, and protect the other young guests!!
Joseph C. D'Cruz· a year agoJoined for the Les Mills Body Pump and Cardio classes offered at this Y location. Great experience thus far with really good, experienced instructors that are engaging, giving participants a well paced, intense workout.
