Alexi Altuve (The Family that Sells)· 5 months agoExcellent venue for youth volleyball tournaments Wellington Sports Academy was an outstanding venue for our most recent tournament. The facility was well organized, clean, and perfectly set up to host competitive youth volleyball events. As part of Little Seeds Academy – Team Orange, we had a great experience from start to finish. The courts were in excellent condition, the layout allowed for smooth transitions between matches, and the overall atmosphere was energetic and family-friendly. This venue hosted an unforgettable weekend for our team, where Team Orange earned the Gold Medal / Trophy in Division 11U. It was a proud moment for the players and families, including Isabella Altuve, and Wellington Sports Academy provided the ideal environment to compete, grow, and celebrate this achievement. Highly recommended for clubs, teams, and families looking for a top-quality volleyball tournament experience. We would be happy to return for future events.
Arianna D N· 5 months agoThis weekend we attended a youth volleyball tournament at Wellington Sports Academy. It is a new facility with a lot of potential, and we wanted to share both the positives and a few areas for improvement from a parent’s perspective. What we liked: • The facility is new. • The courts are high quality. • Overall cleanliness was good throughout the event. Areas for improvement: • Men’s restroom layout: when the door opens, people can see children and adults using the urinals. The layout seems reversed, with urinals directly facing the entrance and sinks located farther inside. For younger athletes, this lack of privacy was uncomfortable, and our kids chose not to use the restroom. • No court dividers: although the courts are new, there are no barriers between them. Balls frequently roll from one court to another, which can be unsafe and increase the risk of trips or injuries. Adding dividers or netting would greatly improve safety. • Limited seating: at times there were not enough seats available, and both parents and athletes ended up sitting on the floor. • Parking limitations: parking was limited, and many vehicles had to park outside the designated lot, sometimes across the street. • Food options: during the days we attended, we did not see food trucks or on-site food options available. Overall, Wellington Sports Academy has a strong foundation and great potential. With some adjustments focused on privacy, safety, and comfort, it could become an excellent venue for youth tournaments.
Sara Lacey· 5 months agoWellington Sports Academy is an amazing school that has truly helped develop my son into a better baseball player. The baseball coaches don’t show favoritism and are all about fairness and building better baseball players. The strength and conditioning coaches are incredibly dedicated and focused on getting each athlete into tip-top shape. The facilities are state of the art. The lunches they provide are homemade, very nutritious, and served in generous portions—perfect for growing athletes. I’m super excited to see where this school takes my son on his baseball journey.
Bob Barnes· 4 months agoWhen a volleyball tournament is being played, parking is poor. There is additional parking but it is some distance away. There is not a sidewalk to get from the facility to the distant parking lot.
Lola Williams· 5 months agoWellington Sports Academy is not capable of safely hosting large volleyball tournaments. The problems this weekend were widespread and went well beyond inconvenience. Parking was inadequate, with only one way in and out, creating unsafe traffic conditions. Some families were forced to walk over a mile, while others were sent to park at a school and shuttled in, clearly demonstrating that this venue lacks the capacity for events of this size. Inside, there was insufficient seating and space for players and parents. Players had nowhere to rest between matches and one morning had to wait outside in 45-degree weather due to lack of space inside. Teams crowded courts while not playing, staff failed to enforce basic rules, and at times there was not enough room for players to serve, directly interfering with active matches. There were no on-site food options or vending machines, and food trucks offered very limited choices. Bathrooms were overwhelmed, lacked paper towels, and the men’s restroom design allows hallway visibility into the urinal area which is completely inappropriate for a youth tournament with teenage girls present. The air conditioning does not function properly. ROC Tournaments and Wellington Sports Academy should not host tournaments of this size here. This venue lacks the capacity, staffing, infrastructure, and safety planning required for large youth sporting events.
