Our family has only visited the Englewood Recreation Center a few times so far, but every visit has been a positive experience. What really stood out was our very first visit. My daughter and I stopped by to get signed up and enjoy the facility. Between schedules, phone calls, and trying to coordinate everything, it took us a little while to finally make it there. When we arrived, we handed over our IDs and got our pictures taken. Then the staff member surprised us by saying, “You’re already in the system.” We looked at each other and said, “What do you mean? This is our first time here.” She smiled and explained that my wife had previously visited one of the district’s facilities and that we had already been entered into the system through a visit to Pirates Cove. Not only did she save us time, but she also helped us understand the membership process and made everything simple. That first interaction set the tone for a great experience. After that, my daughter and I spent nearly three hours on the basketball court. As her dad and self-appointed coach, I was putting her through drills while she worked on her game. It didn’t feel like exercise—it felt like quality time. Those are the moments you don’t forget. Our second visit was for swimming, and that was another great experience. The admission was very affordable, and the instructors were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I even got a chance to stretch out, move around, and enjoy the water myself. For a family looking for activities that don’t break the budget, it was money well spent. As someone who is visually impaired, I also appreciate facilities that are welcoming and easy to navigate. The staff has been helpful, the atmosphere has been positive, and we’ve always felt comfortable bringing the family here. We’re still exploring everything the Englewood Recreation Center has to offer, but based on our experiences so far, it’s been a great place to stay active, spend time with family, and make a few memories along the way. If you happen to see a guy with a mobility cane, coaching his daughter on the basketball court, trying not to get splashed too much at the pool, and enjoying every minute of family time, that might just be me. — K Worthy 2026 Family Man • Husband • Dad • Community Member

I really like Englewood rec center the staff is very nice, and their staff are very nice as well. my favorite thing about this rec center is their basketball gym, The only problem is their gym is constantly rented out, i’m a high school student and I don’t wanna have to wake up at five in the morning just to play basketball, The only available times I can get in later is on the weekends, but that’s still early. I just wish the court wasn’t rented out pretty much every day so me and others can get in work in the afternoons during a school week.

This facility is absolutely stunning and their rates are super fair! The family is definitely going to sign up for swrvices here! The tour was very informative and it was also nice to see alot of diversity here. The track & Basketball Court are especially nice.

I’ve been going here for about 12 years, which is how long we’ve lived in Englewood. I use it mostly for lap swimming and I appreciate that they use slightly less chemicals to condition the pool than other places. Everyone is very friendly and the facilities are very clean. We’ve also used the racquetball courts quite a bit and those are fun.

Pool is awesome. Smaller pool comparatively, but has a section for lap swimming, has a water slide for bigger kids/adults, has a child swim area with 2 smaller water slides. Hardly ever more than 10-15 people at the pool. Has a gym, 1/4 mile track for lap running, and many other offerings. $18 or less for 3 kids to swim from open to close.
