I just experienced the most blatant age discrimination in my entire life. The web site offered group tennis open sign up on Sunday and there were only two of us assigned to the end court. The head tennis pro asked the young lady if she played and she said she hadn't played in a very long time. Then he walked up to me and I told him I never played a game and he asked me to leave. He said I couldn't play on weekends as it was for match play only. He never even did a skill assessment yet the young girl got one after was asked to depart because she was allowed to stay and get a lesson. All he saw was an over weight old lady. I could see it on his face and hear it in the dismissive way he spoke to me. As a matter of fact, I work with a ball machine and had he not embarrassed me by asking me to leave he may have learned that I was a competitive player. I was so upset. This got worse in the office where he made excuses for his behavior treating me like I was stupid. He implied that I was not truthful when I said the site offered beginners lessons. He was making a bad situation worse so it was best that I get away as quickly as possible. I was in tears.

One of the coaches took (replaced) my racquet accidentally, so that I took his one, after the group clinic. I got a phone call telling me that fact. I took Uber and came there to replace racquets all the way down and back from and to Fort Lauderdale, spent 90 bucks, explained this to them. Kindly requested to provide me with 1 hour free clinic lesson (25 or 35$ don’t remember), never heared back from them. Called them myself just being curious for any reply. Reply was ugly and funny, desc manager informed that upon consultation with management, mANAGEMENT said no for free hour clinic. I understood Coral Gables country club will become bankrupt if they provide 25$ free hour to the client who spent 99$ to express its full loyalty. I do not believe that CG Club management come up with such decision and think that desc manager made up such answer. Clay on the courts are too dusty and never be purified. Do not recommend. Never will go there. Ready to talk, explain and listen. May provide my email upon request.
