Shawna Ruppert· 2 months agoGreat beach with FREE parking, which was nice given how much money we spent on parking while we were there. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean and the beach area had very small areas where there was no seaweed piled up. There's a nice pier you can walk out onto and there are staircases off of the pier into the water for anyone interested in taking a dip from the pier instead of the beach. We would've enjoyed it a lot more if the giant piles of seaweed were cleared regularly, but I suppose that's part of the authentic ocean experience. The park itself is very nice, with lots to enjoy -- and it's very pet friendly!
Joan L· 7 months agoI really enjoyed Clarence S. Higgs Memorial Park! The beach is beautiful and peaceful, with a nice mix of sand, water, and greenery. I loved walking along the pier and checking out the small historical memorials—they add a thoughtful touch. The playground and dog park make it feel family-friendly, and there’s plenty of space to relax without feeling crowded. Definitely a great spot to unwind in Key West!
Alysia Perkins· 7 months agoVisited here during a bike trip for the Bessie Stringfield Last Ride. It is the African American cemetery, honoring those that did not make the trip during slavery. It's an amazing experience of feeling a connection to those that passed. The view is beautiful. If you plan to visit Key West definitely stop by the Memorial. Beach.
Morgan Lombardo· 3 months agoWonderful place for sunset and chilling out listening to the band that plays in the gazebo. Local vibe- great for families with kids. Dine at the restaurant or bring chairs and picnic to listen to the band. There is a fishing pier, fenced playground for kids, nice beach volleyball court, and bathrooms. The park that is across the street has well maintained tennis courts and a big dog park.
Eileen Mamudoski· 4 months agoWould like to have been able to touch the water on the beach. There were rocks so you couldn't get to it. It is very pretty and scenic.
