Paul Stephen Varszegi· 4 months agoOne of the best parks in Sarasota to visit even if you’re permanently in a wheelchair. Staff is outstanding and so are the lifeguards. If you make this place and Lido Beach your daily routine, you will have a wonderful time meeting new friends and getting your daily workouts. Be prepared to swim and not just lie around in the sunshine. No lazy members allowed 😂
Joe Miller· a year agoArlington Park Sarasota is a great local spot with trails, tennis, a playground, and a nice pool. It’s clean and peaceful, but some areas could use upkeep and parking can be tight. Still, an awesome place to relax or get active.
Jeff Thal· a year agoI took my son here. Love the fitness area here! There's a separate playground on the other side of the fence but it's definitely for toddlers and little kids. He made it work for a few minutes. There are paved walking trails as well. The aquatic center looks great but we didn't go in. Nice Olympic pool and more. Nice park!
J.P. Florida· 2 months agoIve been going to this park since childhood to swim . I don't swim anymore because im just not a swimmer, however they've added an outside workout park area which is really nice . It has all kinds of pull up bars dip bars , area to do squats if you bring a bar and weights. They also have a basket ball court and tennis courts plus a large play ground for kids . Lots of old oak trees in the park. It is a very nice area for picnic or walking the dog . Something for everyone here . Ive never used the bathrooms so I cant speak on that . The park is clean and surprisingly not usually packed especially evening time .
Mike Sersen· 4 months agoDespite the popularity of the aquatic center, the nature trail and pond in back are great for nature walks and exercise. But after having visited this park for over 15 years and now revisiting, I have found this to be vanishing if not lost. By this I'm speaking of the natural setting and surroundings. The sense of old Florida and this natural setting have been destroyed by the new gentrification taking over in the Arlington Park Neighborhood. The surrounding park area is now disappointingly gentrified by three newly built mansion-like houses abutting the park's boundaries. This now makes the whole park feel diminished and diminishes the sense of seclusion one used to feel strolling through its forested trail and grassy open areas. It's as if the park is theirs and not the public's park, which begs the question: is it? Or has it been sold and the forest exploited for profit? Is the park, with its quaint bridge and idyllic pond, now backyard curios or panoramic pictures of wealth for the wealthy? Where are the ducks now, the snippets of wildlife, the pond's shoreline shrubbery and the sense of seclusion? The image of this all being a scenic nature trail and public park with nastalgic nuances of old Florida, is now besmirched by a distorted symbol of Arlington Park's gentrification and greed. It's a microcosm of Florida in general and you would think the County would do all they could to preserve and protect such public parks. So the meat of the matter is, is this park for public preservation or for private gain? One only has to think of the fight to save Payne Park---and as of lately our State Parks--- and then glimpse at the reflection of the two story houses now shimmering on Arlington Park's small pond and see if it doesn't but compare and that to the public's now diminished and vanishing view.
