We stayed here as Guests of our Friends that are Members of The Club. They have a small area of 10 campsites with power and water at the sites no sewer hook ups but they do have a dump station here. A couple of Gazebos and a playground for the Littles, a pier and a beach on the inter coastal waterway. Great place, it's gated so you get a fob that opens the gate when you check in. They've got a couple pools, tennis courts, pickle ball, baseball and basketball as well as a really nice weight room. If I lived here I'd for sure be a member.

I’m gonna sound like a real Karen but i don’t care. The lifeguards are legitimately the rudest bunch of people I’ve ever interacted with. And it’s not a one off. They absolutely hate their jobs. For example: Just today my child was at the indoor pool. There was one empty table and it had a lifeguard clipboard and a soda but it was empty. I sat down to watch my kid bc there was no life guard there or in the designated lifeguard chair. 5 mins later he comes back and I apologize and ask if he wants me to leave he said “yeah my stuff is here. you can take the chair.” I’m sorry, shouldn’t you be in the lifeguard chair? Aren’t these chairs for the guests? I googled it. Lifeguards are required to sit or stand at the waters edge, which is where their chair is, and the table is not. Another time a lifeguard got nasty with me for “not watching my child” when they had just jumped in the water and I turned to put sunscreen away. She was just chomping at the bit. I love HBTS but I genuinely can’t stand interacting with the lifeguards because it seems like they all have a chip on their shoulders.

The amenities have really improved over the years, but the way the place is run hasn’t changed. I just wish the staff were friendlier and more welcoming to all customers, not just a select few.
