SE· a month agoWhat is going on? Why would you design a playground right next to 2 retention ponds. Florida native here and this is an absolute recipe for disaster. Not to mention all the shrubby around the playground, perfect spot for gators to hang out. I do not feel safe at all especially with small children.
Krzysztof Misterka· 7 months agoSummerfield Community Park is a great place with family picnic area. There is also soccer field and recently resurfaced basketball courts .These areas are great. There are also tennis courts but they look like abandoned by LWR Park District. Only two public tennis courts in Lakewood Ranch and many residents use them to play tennis so sometimes there gets crowded. Forgotten byLWR Park District courts are full of cracks and the nets are falling apart and should have been replaced long ago. Summerfield Park deserves a five star but tennis courts not even a one star. Great news! After a long time of waiting we finally got a new nets on tennis courts.
Demi Mullen· 3 years agoThe new playground set is awesome! This is my son and I’s favorite park because of all the trees providing shade. There’s 3 different playgrounds for different age groups, a covered pavilion for party’s, multiple benches, a soccer field, basketball & tennis court, swings, and bathrooms. Hopefully the playground will reopen soon once the laying of mulch is finished. I take my son here every weekend to play. I’m so grateful we have so many nice parks in LWR!
