Brian Lutz (Backhand City)· 4 years agoThis local tennis institution needs some capital improvement but with the city of Fort Lauderdale struggling with much needed improvement in its sewage system the Parks Department may have to wait unless the are able to reallocated federal covid funding. 21 courts with 4 hard courts and a dedicated ball machine court along with two hitting walls. A lot of the tennis clinics are in the morning or early evening which doesn't leave much time for working people to play it seems the club is geared for senior programming. The park has a lot of modern athletic fields and a new pickle ball facility that put the tennis center to shame but its still a great place to visit with a lot of tennis history.
Grier Kirkpatrick· 5 years agoOk, so looking for a public court? This is it! Lots of clay courts and a few hard courts. All in solid shape and there are shade covers throughout. The staff is so helpful and acclimating, which is a major plus.... no attitudes here! Also, never discount the value of their tennis wall. Great for warming up or solo practice. Try it out.
