The Local Guide
Destin's pickleball is built around visitors. Resorts, vacation communities and a handful of public courts serve a population that swells enormously in summer — the exact inverse of South Florida's winter season.

April – October
This is the key thing to understand. Destin fills from Memorial Day through August, and that's when courts are busiest, programming is fullest and you'll find the most games. In January, half of it is quiet.
A large share of courts belong to vacation communities and resorts along the 30A corridor and Destin proper. If you're renting, check whether your property includes court access — it often does, and it saves hunting for public options.
Okaloosa County parks provide the non-resort option. They're limited in number, so mornings before the beach crowd wakes up are your best window during peak weeks.
